UFLS STUDENTS WIN FIRST PRIZE IN CENTRAL REGION ENGLISH OLYMPIAD 2017

On the evening of May 25, 2017, the finale of the Central Region English Olympiad 2017 took place at Hall A, University of Foreign Language Studies – The University of Da Nang. After challenging online qualifying rounds, 42 contestants from the six most outstanding teams of the Central Region were selected for the finale, including University of Foreign Language Studies and University of Economics from the University of Da Nang; Nha Trang University; University of Economics and University of Foreign Languages from Hue University; and Duy Tan University.
 
 
During the Central Region finale, participating teams competed in three rounds including Greetings, Knowledge and Debate. The competition became extremely exciting thanks to the contestants’ great talents and enthusiasm. The winner is Team Sky from the University of Foreign Language Studies – The University of Danang and will represent the Central Region to take part in the finale of the National English Olympiad in Hanoi on June 15.
 
So excited to be the winner, Pham Si Cuong, a senior student of the Department of Foreign Language Teacher Education, leader of Team Sky said: “When we were informed of participating in this finale two weeks ago, our team were all determined to win the highest prize of this year’s English Olympiad. Our achievement today is thanks to the University’s Management Board and lecturers’ substantial support and enthusiastic guidance”.
This is a practical playground for students from various schools to meet and exchange knowledge and experience in foreign languages learning as well as to strengthen their relationship. More importantly, the competition not only helps promote English learning across the country but also provides students opportunities to express their points of view on the most concerning social issues.
 
 
 
 
 
 
UFLS’ Team Sky awarded first prize by Organizing Committee
 
As for UFLS students, the English Olympiad 2017 offered them opportunities to demonstrate their abilities and learn from their peers from other parts of the country so that they can better themselves for their future careers. The result also serves as a great motivation for UFLS’ lecturers in training students in their study and research.
